Pool Builders in South Carolina, by city

This page lists every South Carolina city that has its own page on this directory. A city gets a page when at least three listed pool builders are based there. The number beside each city is how many businesses its page shows.

South Carolina has many small towns with one or two pool builders and no more. Those businesses are not dropped. Each one is shown on the page of the nearest city that has a page, with a note on its card saying where the business is based. A town that sits more than 40 kilometers from any city page keeps a small page of its own, listed under Smaller towns below.

Every city page is ordered the same way. Paid featured and best-of positions come first and are marked as paid. Next come the businesses whose own websites confirm that they build new pools. The rest follow. Inside each group the order is by Google rating and number of reviews, so a business with a long record of reviews sits above one with a handful.

The listings come from Google Maps records filed under swimming pool contractor. We read each business's website and left out the ones that turned out to be supply stores or unrelated trades. Companies that mainly clean or repair pools stay listed, because many of them also build. Where a business had no website to read, its listing says "not enough info" and stays on the list.

South Carolina licenses residential pool work at the state level. Once a job reaches the state cost threshold, the company needs a General Contractor license with the Swimming Pools classification or a Residential Builder license. Permits and inspections are local, handled by the city or the county. If you are comparing builders from two neighboring cities, ask each one for its license number, check it with the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, and ask your building department what the permit requires.
