Ask about clay and rock before you sign. Much of the Upstate sits on Piedmont red clay that drains slowly, so ask how the builder handles runoff around the deck. Rock can turn up under the clay during a dig, so ask whether the quote covers it or prices it separately. Winter nights can drop below freezing, so ask how the pool and equipment are protected.
Think about financing and warranty while you compare. Fireside Pools & Spas and Aqua Pool Care INC offer financing, with lenders such as HFS Financial and Lyon Financial named on their websites. Pool Leak Solutions attaches warranties, so ask each one what the warranty covers: structure, finish, equipment and workmanship. Keowee Pools and Dream Works Pools also remodel and resurface, so either can look after the pool after it is built.
Look at the track records next. 1st Choice Pool Service has worked in the area since 2001 and is rated 3.1 from 7 reviews. Keowee Pools is rated 5.0 from 22, Dream Works Pools 4.8 from 21 and Fireside Pools & Spas 5.0 from 15.
Two names on the page show mainly cleaning or repair work on their websites. Pool Pro cleans, repairs or services pools and is rated 4.7 from 104 reviews. Pool Leak Solutions cleans, repairs or services pools and is rated 4.9 from 28 reviews. Pool service companies often build as well, so ask, and keep them in mind for care after the build.
